Our home looks like a florist’s! These grow around our home and we love them!
Children’s Day
So every June 1st is Children’s Day around here. It is a day that children are celebrated and parents or other family can get discounts on kid friendly food and attractions. I personally think EVERY day is Children’s Day around here. But, it is also a day that children will perform a dance or routine hosted by their school. Our kids’ local preschool was no exception. Giving children a holiday really only leads to a bunch of parents, ridden with guilt, dragging their kid around town and throwing money at them. The alternative view is that the kids get loved on and the Moms get a day off. The ladies dress to the nines and don’t the girls look cute!?? See if you can spot Hosanna and Jubilee in the video below (hint: they are on either side and not together).
Friends
This May we had some friends visit from Duluth. It was such a blessing and blast! They brought us all sorts of goodies from home, helped around the guesthouse, rescued a puppy from lonely village life, and went on a great adventure with us. It was quite the memorable time.
Happy Birthday to Me!
This year for my birthday I had a long lunch with a friend, got a broken pair of favorite earrings fixed, took Hosanna out on a mini-date, and had Korean BBQ and cake for dinner. It was golden.
Cotton Candy!
A treat for ALL seasons! We found this guy making it one wonderful Saturday for less than a dollar a bag (as it should be). Score!
Duathlon 2018
My friend, her husband, and I completed a duatholon! I ran 10k, my friend’s husband biked 35k, and my friend ran the last 5k to finish the race. This race boasts to be the highest race at this altitude (10,500ft) in this country and the best part was that we did it in the town we live in. So, while people were coming from all over, we got to train and race at altitude on our home turf.
Lots of people completed the race entirely on their own but we submitted as a team. We got 2nd place in the team catagory. There’s no day like race day!
Gigs and Giggles
So these last few months, Nathan and I have been able to perform around town on the occasional Friday. We’ve switched to just playing our own original songs and sparce covers. We even saw our first promo poster! It was awesome to be able to play for our Duluth friends amd Patrice was able to see some coworkers play their own gig in Thailand. Wow!
